Who we are

A Bankstown team, working with people Australia-wide

Debt Negotiators is the trading name of A & M Group Pty Ltd, an Australian company based in Bankstown, NSW. We’ve been working with Australians on unmanageable debt since 2009.

Most of the people we speak with have more than one debt, such as credit cards, personal loans, buy now pay later or a tax debt. Our job is to look at the whole picture and explain which options are realistic, which aren’t, and why.

A & M Group also runs Click Financial, a finance and mortgage broking business. If home loan refinancing is the right option for you, we refer you to it internally, and we’ll tell you about that, and any commission, before you decide.

What we do

The services we offer

Each one has trade-offs, and none suits everyone. We explain them before anything goes ahead.

Debt consolidation
One new loan pays out several debts, so there’s a single repayment.
Good to know: lending criteria apply, a credit enquiry is recorded, and a longer term can cost more overall.

Learn more →

Informal arrangements
New repayment terms negotiated with each creditor, based on what you can pay.
Good to know: creditors don’t have to agree, and it may show on your credit report.

Learn more →

Debt agreements (Part IX)
A binding agreement with your creditors to repay an affordable amount over time.
Good to know: it’s a formal insolvency option, listed on your credit report and the National Personal Insolvency Index.

Learn more →

Personal insolvency agreements
A formal Part X agreement for higher debts or incomes, run by a registered trustee.
Good to know: it’s listed on the National Personal Insolvency Index permanently.

Learn more →

Credit file corrections
If a listing looks wrong, we ask for a correction where there are grounds to.
Good to know: correct listings can’t be removed.

Learn more →

Business & ATO debt
ATO payment arrangements, director penalty notices and small business restructuring.
Good to know: restructuring is carried out by a registered practitioner, not by us.

We also explain how bankruptcy works and how it compares with the other options. We aren’t a trustee.

How we’re paid

If you take out a loan we arrange, we may receive a commission from the lender. We’ll tell you about it before you decide. The rates are in our Credit Guide.

We work with a panel of registered trustees and a panel of registered small business restructuring practitioners. If we refer you to one, we may receive a referral payment, and we may charge fees for pre-insolvency work. We’ll tell you about any payment or fee before you decide.
